Yet she retained her status as the first of a generation of female rock stars. “Sooner or later, one of these girls in a band was going to make it, and it sort of fell on my shoulders. Maybe because I just thought of myself as a musician.” She went on to play Fonzie’s sister, Leather Tuscadero, in the popular US sitcom Happy Days for a while, appeared in West End musicals and became a regular on TV and radio. She still lives in a 16th-century Essex mansion bought at the height of her fame. She has two adult children with first husband, guitarist Len Tuckey, and has been married to German promoter Rainer Haas for 20 years.
